Kinesiology

What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology (pronounced Kin-easy-ology) uses gentle and safe muscle testing techniques to detect imbalances within the body and offers balancing techniques using specific energy points, emotional techniques or nutrition.

What can kinesiology help with?

Kinesiology helps get to the root of an issue which may by physical or emotional. It helps with emotions such as fear, anger, anxiety and self worth; it helps detect nutritional deficiencies (see allergy testing) and it helps with energy blocks which can affect your health and well-being.

Kinesiology does not diagnose disease, it detects functional imbalances which if not corrected, over time, can lead to functional changes and symptoms such as pain, allergies etc. and further down the line diseases may follow.

What can I expect during a kinesiology session?

Clients are invited to lie down on a massage table fully clothed.  The client will be asked to put their arm (and occasionally leg) in certain positions.  The therapist will ask the client to hold their arm steady whilst gentle pressure if applied for several seconds.  As muscles are controlled by the nervous system via electrical impulses, a muscle firing correctly will not move under pressure whereas a muscle that isn’t, will be less able to.  Please note, this is not a strength test. Muscles not firing correctly indicate an imbalance – physical, emotional or nutritional (chemical).  Emotional Imbalances can then be balanced with a psychological kinesiology (similar to tapping technique), Reiki healing or other remedies.
